Taking the leap out of the classic folklore, the story is set in today’s time in Kashmir where Laila Majnu have problems relevant to the youth of today. While dealing with their feuding families a passionate love story unravels. Kais falls in love with the beautiful Laila. They keep running into each other at social events, eventually their flirtation and banter turns into love. However, their families seems to be enemies and the real world intrudes in on their hidden love lives. Circumstances force them apart and Kais descends into madness over his love for Laila.At one point, he seems to be living in the forest like a hermit and at another, he is being chased a mob of men.
