India is taking over Mipcom 2015 thanks to Zee TV. The company has announced it is bringing four of its top-performing Indian dramas to the event for global distribution.
Agent Raghav – Crime Branch; Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani; Sarojini and Yeh Vaada Raha, all of which have already premiered in the last quarter, will make its debut in the international market.
Agent Raghav – Crime Branch is a fictional crime television series that premiered in India on September. It stars Sharad Kelkar, leading a team that must capture the biggest of criminals led by the smallest of clues.
Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani, for its part, tells the true story of the Royal Family of Ameerkot and the scandal that follows the marriage of their son with the daughter of the state’s biggest moneylender; while Sarojini follows the journey of a strong minded, well-educated girl who marries into a family with a regressive patriarchal set up.
The last show in the slate is Yeh Wada Raha, a dramatic series that follows protagonists Survi and Kartik as they face life defining events, betrayal and guilt.
“Zee TV is known worldwide for producing the very best Indian television dramas and we are pleased to offer our first-run, top-rated new dramas to broadcasters,” said Sunita Uchil, Global Head Syndication, Zee Entertainment.
In addition to Indian dramas, Zee TV is coming to the market with a vast catalogue, comprised of over 210,000 hours of television content, ZLiving wellness programming, which is all produced in America, and many exciting things.
