MUMBAI: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has announced that it is offering four of its top-performing Indian drama shows for global distribution at Mipcom. Three of these shows belong to the Zee TV stable, namely ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’, ‘Sarojini’ and ‘Yeh Vaada Raha’, while one is an &TV show titled ‘Agent Raghav: Crime Branch’. All of these shows were launched in 2015. ZEEL global head of syndication Sunita Uchil said, “Zee TV is known worldwide for producing the very best Indian television dramas and we are pleased to offer our first-run, top-rated new dramas to broadcasters at Mipcom. It stars Sharad Kelkar in the lead role. The agent faces personal challenges, all in the name of duty, to find and catch the criminals, led by small clues. ‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani’ is the true story of the royal family of Ameerkot. In order to cope with the loss of the family fortune, the royal family arranges the marriage of their son with the daughter of the state’s biggest moneylender. The marriage causes a scandal, and sets off a chain of dramatic events within the family and the royal servants. It stars Siddhant Karnick, Drashti Dhami, Anita Raj, Surekha Sikri, Darshan Zariwala, Kartik, Vikas Tripathi and Moon Banerjee. ‘Sarojini’ follows the journey of Sarojini, a strong minded girl who is married into a family with a regressive patriarchal set-up. Refusing to bow down to the patriarch’s controlling ways, Sarojini strives for a balance of power and influence in the household. Shiny Doshi plays Sarojini while Mohit Shegal plays the powerful Somender. In ‘Yeh Wada Raha’, widowed Shrikant (Pankaj Vishnu) and daughter Survi live in a Mumbai tenement controlled by local don Bhau (Ajay Paul Singh). One day the police force Shrikant to betray Bhau in order to protect Survi. Bhau gets killed during the police confrontation while his son Aniket is injured for life from a bullet wound, causing turmoil for all involved.
